All About Me

In the late 80’s, I started mixing for a friend who had a band playing pubs and small venues. By the mid 90’s, I decided that I’d like to make a career out of my hobby and did some courses which landed me a job working for The Mean Fiddler at The Grand, Clapham Junction as monitor engineer. I worked there for 18 months until it closed down. After that, I moved to  Midas Sound and Light (a small PA company in Salisbury) where I worked for 3 years doing all sorts of PA work, FOH and Monitors. During that time, we also did a few live TV and Radio shows.

Towards the end of the 90’s, a director friend asked me to do some sound recordist work for him on a couple of TV series he was working on. I bought my own kit and made the move to TV where my first undertaking was about Sir John Evans (The then Police Chief of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary) and then the second was on Crealy Adventure Park. This led to programmes for ITV Westcountry such as Country Lives and Pulling Power. Which then led onto many programmes for the BBC including: Countryfile and Gardeners World, Grand Designs for Channel 4 and Build a New Life in the Country for Channel 5. As well as  programmes for other satellite channels and online content like Rivercide a live documentary streamed on Youtube.

To maintain my live music skills, I have taken on the occasional tour, working on Oh! What a Night for 8 months in 2008 and That’ll Be The Day for a couple of years 2010-2012.

Technology has always been a particular strength of mine and I started an IT Company in 2015, which now runs nicely alongside my sound work. I designed and built this website myself, so feel free to comment (polite comments only please!). Contact me here! If you’re interested in a website then I can help, Click here!
